No where near on topic for anything, but as I just got this set up, I thought I'd see how jealous I could make everyone.

Just got in the mail my 15 foot DVI cable so that I could connect my new 32" LCD TV to my computer. As I type this, I'm in my room typing away in my bed from a wireless keyboard and mouse.

Life is grand. Now to go see how Oblivion looks on this.

They don't have a Radio Shack where you live ? Is where I got the 20' ethernet cable for my FF11 addiction.

They do, but video cables have the highest markup price for any electronic item.

Locally, a 10 foot DVI cable cost 70 dollars. Through the internet, a 5 meter cable was 31 dollars plus 8 s&h.

I know someone with one of the best jobs on the planet, it involves placing things inside exotic particle beams... including particle beams that 'don't exist' according to the government... how can anything but a good book compare to that?

Me too.

Except, I got the 32" LCD TV (LG) a few weeks ago.

Nice TV. Mine's an Olevia.

My system beats yours in a couple of places, mainly memory. I really need to install a 64 bit OS to take advantage of my 4 GB of memory and SLI configured Geforce 7600 GTs.

What do you do with [s]a drunken sailor...[/s] err... with the 4GB RAM?

I can easily use 2GB (writing software in XP, and/or just general stuffing around in Vista), but I havn't needed more than that yet.

Also, is all your hardware supported in 64bit mode?

I ran Windows XP x64 for a while, but gave up because of the total lack of hardware support. I havn't tried Vista in 64bit yet (only installed it to real hardware when I got the new PC -- I'd played with it in VMWare before that)

Ok.. I couldn't resist.

Right now, for A/V I have a 55" Sony HDTV with Onkyo 7.1 Digital Surround sound... around 1500 Watts total. I don't network my computers into it, but I have dual 30" LCD screens hooked up to my Mac Pro. Mac Pro Specs:

Dual 30" Flat Panel Moniters

And before you ask, I do a LOT of audio editing. I use that computer to power my studio, and also to do video editing.

sorry about earlier, but I'm stuck with a hand me down laptop that won't run ANY of my games well, a 14 inch TV/VCR with basic cable, and I have to use my PS2 for a DVD player...

my larger computer failed recently, I think I need to replace the motherboard, but that requires money I don't have...

I can't even play Diablo II...

I'm going to go be depressed for a while now...
