The FelBooks on http://www.lulu.com thread, and the covers used there for Firestaff books (some good, some quite nonsense), suggested the following question: what are your ideas for covers for Fel books, starting with Firestaff Series?

There are mine:

1. Tower of Sorcery one solution would be to use image of the Tower of Suld, but the cover used at lulu.com (the link is to image of cover), with the forest, is also quite nice. Another idea would be to have image of Allia with two shortswords, Tarrin in Were form with staff at the center, and Kerintanima perhaps with paw surrounded in magic crackle, back to back. Or just Shaeram, image (with colors) or the amulet.
2. Questing Game - perhaps the image of the Book of Ages, or Tarrin facing Jegojah, or the Renoit ship sailing, or some scene from Tarrin's fight with Shiika. The fly image for cover used on lulu... what it has to do with this book?
3. Honor and Blood. I think the best idea would be some scene from the Desert of Swirling Sands, perhaps the desert, hinted image of hidden kajat, and small silhouette of Tarrin at the top of the spire.
4. For Shadow Realm I don't have good image/idea for cover. Perhaps the image of the Firestaff, or the head of Sapphire, or the steam ship they travelled, or the city in Shadow Realm...
5. Weavespinner's shaeram amulet for Weavespinner would be easiest.
6. For Axe of the Dwarven King of course the image of the axe, or just the head of this axe.
7. Finally, for Sword of Fire Tarrin's sword (katana?) with the licks of flames, or Tarrin in Demi-god's form, with wings of fire (perhaps only silhouette, without making it obvious it is Tarrin from first glance).

And what are your ideas?

BTW. they can be ideas for other books, not only Sennadar ones.

hmm i actually thought about this after i printed out some of the books. It would be nice if i could get them into a booksize and bind them somewhere.
But what would the ideal cover be.. imo the ideal cover would be a leatherbound book with the shaeram on it saying only the title. And make that the same for every following book.

Well, I also think that the image of shaeram (either image, or amulet version) would be good as common cover for all the books.

Another ideas:

• Book of Ages or head of Firestaff for The Questing Game
• Fara'Nae brand: upright longsword and spear crossed at an angle (in X formation, but crossing higher up than in the center), enclosed within a circle for Honor and Blood
• Ward of Shadow Realm visible from the sea (dark/black half sphere raising from the sea, perhaps behind the reef) for Shadow Realm
• Only the main rune (Duthar rune) from the axe for Axe of the Dwarven King

I had the same idea for the shaeram as a common cover, or at least a fading background image and a picture in front.

And for the pictures:
The Tower of Sorcery - I thought the courtyard and the statue of the Goddess would be nice, perhaps shining rather brightly so it is not so easily destinguishable and doesn't spoil it for the readers
The Questing Game - Perhaps the image of the Book on its stand will realy be the best choice, but for the sake of diversity let's say Tarrin laying in the alley and Shiika and her brood hovering over him.
Blood and Honour - An view of the desert and Cloud Spire in the background with several Aeradella gliding around it. Or how Tarrin crosses over in pillar of light, the star of Sorcery around him and the like. Or the battle at Suld.
Shadow Realm - It wolud be so nice to put Tarrin fighting the Red but it would be such an awful spoiler.
Weavespinner - The black pyramid in wich Val is enclosed surrounded by a icy fields.

Another Idea. Something of a LOTR collection design - black book with a different simbol, or the outlines of different objects - paw (Tarrin's beggining), book(The Book of Ages), sword (The battle at Suld), staff, pyramid.

You could always have only the Red/Guardian eye on the cover.

Another place for shaerem, either image or an amulet design ("wireframe") would be on the spine of the book.
