Tarrin and the sling

Post by Wildman_John »

First off let me just say that I think that this is the BEST series I have read in a very long time.
I started re-reading The Firestaff Series while waiting on the next chapter for Sword of Fire and noticed a small inconsistency.

In Chapter 4 of Sword of Fire Tarrin states he never had a sling:

"Well, we do favor it," Tarrin nodded in agreement, picking up the bow he'd made for Telven. "I've never so much as picked up a sling in my life. I've always had one of these."

But in Chapter 1 of Book 1 of the Firestaff series when Terrin is packing to go to Suld it states that he packed a sling:

"He got his pouch that had his sling and a variety of sling stones and metal sling bullets, metal cast-offs of Master Karn's forge that he formed into little balls for a sling.  That way he profited off the leftover metal. "

I realize that this is very minor and I dont recall Terrin actually using the sling, but it was bothering me so I thought that I would mention it here.

Yeah, there are a few inconsistences, but who cares?  Most people don't pick up on them, and  the rest of us who do don't mind them a bit.  Now, if it was something major, like mixing up the name a certain farie's husband three times, then we might get mad.  LOL

Does mixing up female character names in universes count as major?? 'Cause somehow Jesmind found herself, ever so briefly, in the Subjugation universe.

Nah, Fel was looking for a hardassed woman's name.  And it was going to be a tossup between Jesmind or Triana for that.  If he had picked Triana, we would probably have thought of her too much as the motherish figure, instead of the girlfriend, soon to be more, that is trying to bring the guy into the fold.  Notice how that works for both Subjegation and the first book?  ;-)

Should not this thread and the thread mentioned in the post above be copied to FAQ to avoid further repetitions of this question?
