Recently I just finished re watching the Extended version of Lord of the Rings. It still captivates, Inspires and moves me ,just as if I had watched it the First time.without a doubt ,One of the greatest movie series ever.
That said , I really want to love the Hobbit, just i don't know how to describe ,its just lacking something. That said , Smaug was great , the rise of the Necromancer , the spiders,Bard and the lake Town , all are good.Just its like kinda cameos of scenes . Maybe the battle of the five armies ,will give it the spark it needs.
what do u guys think?

Re: The Hobbit Movies
I wondered why Peter Jackson was channeling Michael Bay when he made Hobbit 2. It is a bit more action-packed than the book was. The scene with the giant gold statue was amusing but a bit over the top. In the book, I don't think the dwarves even go inside the mountain until after Smaug leaves.
Re: The Hobbit Movies
Honestly, that was my thought, as well. The scenes in Lake Town (I believe that is the name of the town) and inside the mountain were additions that didn't really add anything of note and just seemed to go on, and on, and on. They were very obviously filler which I just felt dragged on. The Necromancer and Elf additions were relatively minor, were mentioned "off screen" in the book (so to speak), and did add to the story in my opinion.
It has become obvious to me that making it three movies instead of two has unnecessarily bloated the experience. I look forward to severe cuts being made in DVD versions to bring it in line with 4-5 hours total for the Hobbit, but in the meantime the man must make money.

Re: The Hobbit Movies
i would have found the movie little lacking without a over the top cool fighting scene.
