Medical crud

My doctor had me take some medical tests a while back and I just got the news about what they found. As a result I'm going to have to take some time off to have a few more tests and possibly some 'preventative' treatments. Unfortunately that means my writing time is going to be somewhat limited for a while.
The annoying part about this is that I feel quite normal -- okay lets make that as normal as I've felt since I retired a dozen years ago, but I suppose prevention is better than repair (ie. operations or other kind of treatments.)
Thank goodness for medicare!

Ugh, ten hours of nothing to eat or drink but water, then I visited with a nurse
who came in with a needle and four vials to take blood samples. After that I was
given two little itty bitty cookies, a tiny glass of orange juice, had a wait,
then more blood samples. I imagine those were checks for blood sugar. I finally
got to eat and have a few hours off, but soon I have to go back for another set
of tests. The next set is a check for a somewhat elevated lymphocyte count (I
think?) I'm fairly certain that was brought on by a mild summer cold I just
went through, but the doc wants to be sure, so I'll humour him.
Hopefully I'll get out of here after that and will be able to sleep at home
tonight.

Good news!
The medical tests seem to prove that the high lymphocyte count is almost certainly NOT due to either Lymphoma or Leukemia.
I'll admit I was a tad scared though.

Good to hear.
I've been treated for the big C in the past and it's a long journey for everyone involved.
