thanks but do you know one that works with 3.5" discs and not 2.5' ?
they are a lot cheaper

the one you suggested is good but buying 2.5" drives will kill my budget
for what a 500GB 2.5" costs i can buy 1TB 3.5" drive with money left over

You really have a choice cheap or good. Pick one.
I like this model from Supermicro.

Avoid the ones with a small fan for each drive they get very noisy and don't cool worth a damm.

I would stick with the Supermicro model as it is server grade.
