Thor's Child & Assimilation

Post by Bigwind »

I was just wondering how Thor's Child and Assimilation were coming along? It seems ages since we have had any new chapters from either of them. How are the authors doing? No having any major problems I hope.
I'm not completely mad, there are bits missing!

Agreed! I have enjoyed Thor's Child... But I really want to see some more of Assimilation! I hope both all parties behind both of the stories are alive and kicking and just busier than planned.

Ah, yes - 'Thor's Child' - I had the next chapter about 1/2 done when I came down with an eye infection which my doctor first diagnosed as 'Pink Eye' and I started treatment for that. At that point I really wasn't interested in writing. My eyes were bloodshot and they hurt whenever I was in or even NEAR a bright light -- including a computer monitor.
After almost three weeks of treatment for 'Pink Eye' and various other similar 'guessed' ailments by various doctors, an ophthalmologist recommended I see an allergy specialist and that I try to spend as much time as possible in a relatively dark room. The allergist found that I was mildly allergic to tomatoes, citrus fruits and any of the cabbage family, but none of those caused any change in my eyes. I spent nearly a month in a dimly lit room, listening to audio books donated by a nephew, but during that time I spent a very, VERY limited time on the computer each day -- cause it HURT!!! As a result hardly any writing got done.
Gradually my eyes got better and in the last week I FINALLY got clearance to come out into the light, but no one knows what was really wrong with my eyes -- I don't, and my doctors don't either although they won't admit that to my face.

Now I have to go back and start writing again, but it may take a week or so -- heck I'll have to reread what I've already written to find where I am and what I've mentioned before. (It's a darn good thing I wrote out a rough plot summary before I started writing the darn story or I'd REALLY be lost.)

I will give you a hint though; Frieda (aka Freya if you're a Norse mythology nut) appears very soon, which will mean the story will move much more rapidly because it will be advancing on two fronts.

PS; I miss Assimilation too!

I am glad that you are better. I can't imagine anything worse than a problem with your eyes. Make sure you look after them properly!

I am sure we will all be glad when you are able to start writing again and look forward to reading the next chapter.

Look after yourself. :D
