Have to tell you Firefox is my preferred browser, however as of late(3.6), it just crashes and crashes..... Today I couldn't even open it.sighs.
I have reinstalled , safe mode, disabling all my add ons =nothing.major suck.
Not being a major fan of Explorer (though its a sturdy back up), I have decided to give Chrome a tryout. so far its not bad at all.
Just for the sake of interest , what about the others such as Opera , maxthon etc how do they rate?
To be honest , i like and feel comfortable with FF , its like an old pair of shoes . yet this latest version, it has me more screaming in pain and frustration , more than than sighing in comfort.

I have been using FireFox (and it's predecessors) since it became stable enough to use - somewhere around 0.18 or so. And before that, Netscape. I just recently went from FF 1 to FF 2, becuase I wanted to be able to get RSS feeds. I can't go to 3 for the simple reason that it won't install on my system. The other thing I have noticed is each new release is bigger and slower that the previous.
I have never really trusted IE, for many reasons.

I am a web developer and so I have had to have installed and use all major browsers. My favorite since it's inception has been Firefox. It was fast and extensible, I could customize it the way I needed it. However recently I have found myself using Google Chrome more and more. It's just faster and more pleasurable to use. I would not recommend using IE as your main browser to my worst enemy...well maybe my WORST enemy...

Actuality my FF decided to behave itself , but this Google chrome is bloody quick. its addictive. It really is.
if i could just figure out how where the home page button is , i would be a happy man.

I'm running FF 3.6.3 on Ubuntu Linux, and haven't had any real problems with it.
I use Opera as my back-up browser. The main reason is so I can view Flash with it. FF will play maybe one-third of the Flash I want to see, including YouTube. I wish FF could get that straightened out, it's my only significant gripe (although it may have as much to do with Linux as FF).

And I'm running Ubuntu 10.4 64-bit.

Opera does Flash rather well, and I'm playing with Chromium (not Google Chrome) to see how it works.

FF 3.6.3 on my macbook pro Mac OSX leopard periodically eats up a lot of memory and causes my laptop to freezeup. Especially when I have multiple tabs open. I shifted to chrome and I am deliriously happy.

FF 3.6.3 on Windows 7 here. I didn't notice any problem. I usually have 4 to 6 tabs open all day without issues.
At home I use Ff on Windows XP (netbook) and don't have issues.

Yeah, it's nice - I love having the automagic search from the address bar. It also picks up sites with OpenSearch and lets you do searches directly on their services.
You can use the options to show a homepage button if you want, I use the 'recent sites' view instead.

I typically run FF 3.6.3 on Mac OSX 10.6.3 with 20+ tabs open with little or no issue. I rarely have a crash when I do something extreme, but even in those cases, FF recovers everything!
I'm a huge fan of Chrome on PC, but I'm still waiting for improvements to the Mac release.
