and that's only the first, he's promised two more, each better than the last.

I can admire his guts, that's for sure. I hope this makes it clear to them that just one dissatisfied customer can cost a fortune, if not treated right

The funny part is they've already approached him to "BUY" the rights to the song, supposedly to use it as a training video of what NOT to do - what else could they do after having it viewed over half a million times? Although I'm betting the chances that any baggage handler seeing the video after United bought it are about as good as The Bluejays have of winning the World Series this year.

I had a similar experience, many years ago. Fortunately, my stuff was in a welded aluminum case with foam padding. It put one hell of a dent in the tarmac when it fell out of the under-tail baggage area on a DC-10 (about 40 feet, iirc). I happened to be talking with an airline rep at the time, watching out the waiting area window. It was amusing the way they jumped through hoops for me, since that piece of checked baggage had a declared value of $3k (a lot of money in '74). I got a first class ticket for the remainder of my flight (three different carriers) out of the deal. Spoiled me rotten, since I can't afford first class. Not that I'd fly again anyway, I object to being treated like a criminal by the TSA Gestapo, just because I want to get on an airplane.
