In Effort To Stay Active: Average Art #1

Hello y'all. I checked out the old board messages and started thinking... Considering that I've been around since the first WWWboard, and taking in account my current post-count, one can deduct that I'm not doing my best when it comes to keeping this board active.
So, to add my little load to the pile I'm posting the only thing I can safely open my mouth about, I think.
I recently got in the mood to paint, and wanted to keep away from anything resembling paid work... well, I browsed through my older artworks and found quite a few promising ones from 2002. I picked one, the most cryptic I might add, and repainted the damn thing. From ground up. It saved me the effort of coming up with anything good, and gave me pretty damn good guideline
.
I'm actually quite satisfied with the picture. Sure, there's some problems, but I can't be arsed to fix them. I'm too satisfied.
On technical side, this was my second effort in Painter 9. Of course, I can't do anything without Photoshop, but the bulk of this was painted in Painter 9 with Oils and some odd smeary water sponge brushes. I think I like Painter. Finally. First tried it around version 6, and find it very useful.

In case you're interested, here's the 100% size detail shot:

and the large (not quite full-scale) version can be found at the address:

Incidentally, I listened to the Dillinger Escape Plan's new album "Miss Machine" on repeat whole the time I painted this. Has to be one of the greatest releases this year! Granted, I don't generally listen to something this extreme, but this is quite phenomenal effort from the boys. To get more cohesive image what the hell I am talking about read this excellent review:
