Well, originally, there were 4 sects of gods: the Elder Gods, who are, well, elder; the Tykini gods, those gods who originated primarily on Tykarthia (the West, the home range of Tarrin et al), the Sharadi gods, those who originated on the southern continent of Arathorn (but was originally called Sharadar, thus the name Sharadi stuck), and the Valkari gods, those that started on Valkar. The Non-human gods were loosely grouped with the other gods in the same geographical region, but aren't actually considered official parts of the pantheons. They exist outside of the "recognized" pantheons, but are still subject to Ayise.

These sects don't really apply anymore, because the worship of all three sects of Younger gods is so diverse now that it no longer matters. Mikaras, a Sharadi god, is patron of Arkis, a Tykini nation, for example. The division of sect is just a convenient reference, nothing more.

-----

The Elder Gods:

--Ayise, goddess of creation, primary Elder God and creator of both the pantheon and all the universe, ruler of the pantheon;
--Shellar, god of time;
--Ahiriya, goddess of fire;
--Saltemis, god of water and the sea (and weather);
--T'Kya, goddess of air (and weather);
--Darrian, god of earth;
--Dakkii, goddess of death ("good" people);
--Dakkuu, god of death ("evil" people);
--Niami, goddess of magic;
--Leia, goddess of nature and life

Each Elder God represents a primal natural force, and are responsible for maintaining the Balance.

The Balance is an esoteric word, because it has many meanings. Put most simply, the Balance is nothing more than the smooth and orderly operation of the universe under the guidelines and rules that Ayise has set. Things that can disrupt the Balance draw the direct attention of the Elder Gods, and that's a sufficient force to accomplish almost anything.

-----

The Tykini gods:

--Aldoran, god of duty (cult status now, was patron of Rauthym, which was destroyed);
--Berek, god of greed;
--Cyridos, god of winter, cold, and famine;
--Dallstad, god of strength (patron of Ungardt);
--Hizt, god of fear;
--Karas, god of law (patron of Sulasia);
--Kirice, goddess of beauty;
--Kyna, goddess of animals;
--Makor, god of pain and suffering;
--Shirani, goddess of love and family

-----

The Sharadi gods:

--Azur, god of Arcane magic, patron of Wizards;
--Denthar, god of knowledge, patron of sages and some Wizards;
--Dragor, god of creativity and innovation, dual patron of Telluria;
--Endar, god of bloodlust and combat;
--Imnis, god of intrigue, patron of thieves;
--Mikaras, god of travel, travelers, and merchants, patron of Arkis and Shac;
--Pygas, god of revenge;
--Sheniia, goddes of peace, compassion, and mercy;
--Shari, goddess of song, dance, and music;
--Talon, god of the forest and birds

-----

The Valkari gods:

--Bekir, god of luck;
--Chulali, goddess of jungles;
--Domammon, god of the moons;
--Lenani, goddess of vice, lust, and debauchery;
--K'Tar, god of war, patron of Godan and Nyr;
--Niskar, god of hatred and discord;
--Ragya, god of disease and decay;
--Solari, goddess of the sun;
--Tirana, goddess of the night and darkness;
--Vykar, god of fury and destruction

-----

Some gods fall completely outside of this organization. Some are cults, some are prominent gods that originated from distant lands, and some are simply resistant to the idea of being classified. All Non-human gods fall into this category, as do a couple of noticable names.

--Neme, goddess of women, patron of Amazar;
--Fara'Nae, goddess of the Selani;
--Pythorras, god of honor and duty, leader of the 3 gods of the Vendari pantheon, primary patron of the Vendari;
--Kikkalli, goddess of the seas, weather, sailing, the stars, and navigation, leader of the Wikuni pantheon of 9 gods, primary patron of the Wikuni;
--Shaervan, god of the Aeradalla;
--Skerrit, god of the Centaurs (the ONLY Fae-da'Nar race with their own god outside the Aeradalla).

-----

Now, there are two names that certainly can't be left out. After all, the whole series was based upon them.

--Val, god of darkness, power, control, and evil, patron of Zakkar, Stygia, and Remuria, patron of the ki'zadun, curently deceased;
--Tarrin Kael, god of fire, vengeance, protection, and duty, currently deceased, but resurrected as a mortal.

Lots of names...too bad you'll never see them anywhere but here. ;)

Ouch, _currently_ deceased. That means there is a chance of them becoming no longer deceased? :o

Thanks for an answer, Fel.

Lochar, could you put this information into yours "The world of Sennadar Compendium" on your's sennadar.dontexist.com? And maybe by the way change the name of the file to something other than A guide to magic.doc, because it is now more than only that.

Myriam Lar... wasn't that the old Keeper of the Tower, before Jenna? She died, didn't she? I remember the Goddess told Tarrin that he wasn't allowed to heal her and that he was to let things take their course. Maybe I just assumed she died?

She Faked her Illness for her to step-down and allow Jenna to become the Keeper.

MMMM,I wonder how Jenna reacted to that news ? That the old Keeper in fact lied to her as well as Tarin. Also i wonder What Shes(The Old Keeper) is doing now, i don`t see either the Goddess letting her or her wanting to just sit around doing nothing . Fel ,if nothing else comes to mind she could be an ambasdor to a Court somewhere.

Did you make up a list of the rest of the Vendari and Wikuni gods too? And how did you come up with names for all of them?

I wonder if there has ever been a were-cat priest of Sheniia. :)

You didn't mention anything about the former Keeper. Is her final fate a secret?

A were-cat priest of Sheniia now that would be wrong..
But i can imagening that...

Were-cat Priest "YOU Naughty Tuggs HOW dare you insult and hit a poor farmer I will teatch you Compasion."
THe were-cat Priest of Sheniia jumps the Tuggs and starts to ripp them apart.. Loots of blood body parts ripped or broken later.
"Now remember You have to be Good to eatch other. Love compasion Duude" with that the were-cat walks away to spread the compasion along his fellow creatsure..
