But what he'll be "seeing" is the space all around the ship, thanks to being merged with the tactical CBIM. With that kind of awareness, he can twist space into a shield that simply turns all fire aside.
That's juicy allusion to things to come, I hope!

Clever, clever, clever.

Yes. In fact, Jason can deflect ALL incoming fire, not just MPAC fire.

Telekinesis breaks the rules of interaction, since all Jason has to do is be able to SEE what he's affecting. That's why there's no defense against it except another telekinetic.

Once the Aegis is outfitted with a CBIM-level mainframe, you'll see this tactic in action on a large scale.

Hmm bigger is better so next build a ship with multiple cbim cores it would be a nightmare crushing everything =) that or they will update cbim to 2.0 =) . Like someone said be for ... Size dose matter

Hmm, I've been curious about what it would take to put a fully fledged CBIM probably with a nother backup CBIM in it as well as a tactical CBIM, on the moon base and since the moon base has already been all hollowed out, come up with some major league engines and just turn the whole thing into a super carrier/ death star combination kind of ship. One that not only produces ships but can fight and move.

Hmmm if i remember correct there is something creating artificial mass on the moon sins they hollowed it out. If they move it wouldn't it cause a lot of force on the planet, changing the environment ?? when that gravity changes.

And i´m not sure about a death star it´s a ripoff Star wars and that would be to easy =)

It doesn't have to be called a death star, have similar armament, or even be configured in a similar way. I just used it as a sort of comparison in terms of a large size of ship which is practically a planetoid type of ship.

But from a defensive point of view, a hollowed out Moon with like 10-100 miles of surface left, could take a lot of damage and still keep going...

I mean you'd only need shields around the gate in, and engine area, but it could hold tons of ships inside..

Or they could steal one of the Consortium’s bases which are also of huge proportions and adapt it into a super carrier command ship. Taking one would also have the advantage of not causing potentially devastating tidal effects when removed from their current position.

I do wonder how good these mobile tactical CBIMs might be at hacking and taking control of enemy ship computers. Cyber warfare doesn’t seem to be common in Subjugation but Cybi has infiltrated a number of systems already.

Do you have any idea how much power it would take to move something with that much mass?

Remember, even though it's hollow, you're dealing with an orbital body here. Kosigi is roughly half the size of our moon, it's THAT BIG. Just the shell of Kosigi is a hundred times more massive than the Aegis. It would take a thousand Aegis engines to break the inertia of Kosigi and get it out of orbit.

Is it possible? Technically yes.

How long would it take to bring it about? About 300 years.

But don't worry, you'll see carriers, ships dedicated only to carrying fighters, appear within the story eventually. With the production of the new Wolf fighters, the fighter will suddenly become MUCH more important to the KMS.

I was actually thinking of something similar to Dahak and the planetoids of David Weber's Heirs of Empire series. Imagine a huge mother ship that can carry not just fighters but even cruisers, inside of it and yet because of its size can mount the kind of power systems that generate huge beams, and other usually ground based weapons that would not fit onto a normal ship because of size and power requirements. Very ideal for carrying the fight to another galaxy :-)

This is true as with the jammer, they would be able to harm the enemy fighters, but that means the ship has no shockwave weapon, the spatial compinsator, would that be able to harm the ships. Also the fighters will be easy to adapt to stealth, so they never see them coming.

What about mobile battle station, designed to travel by gates.

also you know how fel sometimes post these really nice explenations and back stories for his stories, i m wondering is there any where where they are all groupd together for easy finding and reading.

I have this mental image of the Supergates from Stargate SG-1 for intergalactic cruiser transportation. The gates were made of triangle shaped bricks that aligned into a ring formation as the perimeter of the wormhole event horizon. That concept has the potential for MASSIVE gates... so long as there is an adequate power source.

I'll be finished with it sometime this week. Dunno when.

Then I won't release it for 2 more weeks just to be a bitch.

I'm good at that.
