I have several level 99 characters on Diablo. My favorite is probaly a dual sword barbarian or a mace weilding paladin. My first character in Diablo was a Thorns Paladin, and I went toe to toe with the Big D and didn't die on my first try.
I think it would be really cool if they came out with a newer Diablo for today and/or one for the NextGen consoles that are out there. But I don't know what the story-line would be, because all the soulstones and such have been destroyed. Ah well, wishful thinking I guess.
LEVEL 99??? Great Googaly Moogaly!! I can't even imagine how you DID that! By the time you finish the silly game your character is only about a level 35! How the H*E*Doubletoothpicks do you get to a level 99?? And what the heck have I been doing with all my time?

Blood begets more blood as dog begets dog.
Death generates death as the vulture breeds the vulture.
But the voice I heard today said, "Love your neighbor. Do good to those who despitefully use you".

You run around just gaining experience. My favorite place is at the Arreat Plateau. Just run around there again and again and you'll level up quickly. For the Big D fight, you can run around the Desert in Kurast (I almost said the Desert of the Swirling Sands), or run around in Hell for a while. Just let yourself level up, and it happens.
Lvl 99, btw, is as high as you can get in Diablo...

Nightmare and Hell mode help.
Ignorance is bliss, knowledge is power. Are the powerful very unhappy?

My Barb always carried a rare with a lot of fire and ice damage on it for those guys. Nearly no physcial power, but I got lucky to find the thing with like 40 or 50 points of fire and ice damage. Use that with whirlwind isn't so bad. Just a long wait.
I'd much rather lure him to a previous killing field with my necro and corpse bomb him. Diablo learned that the hard way. Baal learned from his brother. You don't bring minions to a necro fight.

I have a Pali with 67 points in Holy Freeze, and it adds like 3000 pts of damage in cold... course, doesn't help that much with Invulnerable to Cold, but I have a Unique Dimensional Blade that has almost 300pts of damage just physically, and then there's some fire damage too...
