wildbow has an army of minions that vote for his/her stories. 702 votes this week for Pact. 336 for Worm. Wow. Worm was great but I just cannot get into Pact.

I have been trying to vote daily from both home and work, for the past few months. Sometimes I forget, but usually I remember.

Just make sure that you vote every 8th day from each computer/ip address. The topwebfiction site keeps track of the last time you voted and will not count another vote from the same location for seven days.

I would be happy if we could keep Subjugation in or close to the top ten stories.

Well, I've been reading the #1 story -- Taking Root -- and so far (10 chapters) I[m not especially impressed. It's still so much "why am I supposed to care what happens to these kids (even Sylvester?"

Of course, I would also say that FEL is getting something of a raw deal being listed for the Subjugation series, I enjoy it well enough but find both the Tarrin Kael stories and the Spirit Walker universe far more compelling. Perhaps that is just a matter of recency.

I loved the Tarrin Kael stories, but i find Subjugation equally fascinating. Couldn't wait for another chapter there. I would give Spirit Walker the third place of Fel's many works. I read it, like it, but its not as catching of my attention as the other two stories are. But that might also only be my current impression since there is so much time between new chapter release that i simply loose the threat and turn my focus on other books. Not that this is in any way a criticism of Grandmaster Fel! Definitely not!

Those topwebfiction votes are dependent on the type of reader. Most of them seem to be bloggers writing their stories. That is a whole different kettle than we have here. It also does not take into account years and years of continuous work. The maximum time frame i can choose seems to be 1 year, the default only 3 days. A blog that does not get updated for a week is considered almost dead and abandoned, so that might be suitable there. Readers will probably also vote once or more in a single week for their stories. Fels Subjugation has a total of 258 votes in the last 12 months. I do not believe that is even a fraction of the number of people that have actually read all those books. Such a page to vote for your loved stories is simply not suitable for 'us' here. I for one consider those vote-for-whatever pages as annoying and meaningless as those websites that get stupid people to spam and annoy everyone else in chats of all kinds in the hopes that someone clicks on it and the poster gets a point for it. There are much better ways to waste my time. Reading a good book for one.

No I don't get a point for it or any thing for it. What I do get from it is a hope that more people will find Fel's works and gain an appreciation for it. I did not place Subjugation on the topwebfiction website. But, If it is there, I want to see it at the top of the list. If someone wants put the Tarrin Kael stories, or any other Fel stories on topwebfiction I will vote for them too.

I am the one who updates the www.weavespinner.net site. For around a decade, I am the one who pays for the web domain and web server. I do not make any money off the site. I am not paid to keep the site up. I do not have annoying advertisements in the site. I do not get any...points for the site. I am self taught when it comes to web sites. What web programming and html that I have learned, is to keep to site up. Am I great at it? No! But, it does what I expect of it, to release Fel's stories out on the web in multiple formats for anyone to find.

I think you misunderstood me. :-)

The stuff i referred to were those pages that one can create an account and then get a link like "coolgame.com?id=52345" and then go post that link everywhere you can think of to get people to click it. You as the account owner get a "you have collected xxx points" message on your account there and that goes one up with every person who clicks on your link. If you are one of the fooled people you get to see some meaningless page "thank you for looking, here is some ads, please register an account and you can collect points, too". Something like that, was very popular a few years back and you will still find similar spamming in irc or other chats every now and then. I have tried finding an example with google but i was unsuccessful, either because i was too stupid to come up with the right search words or - hopefully - because google threw those pages out of their index long ago.

What i definitely did NOT refer to was any page with true content and a serious and useful intention behind it like your page. The weavespinner.net site is a good thing, it collects the parts and pieces posted on the forum here in a central place and offers several formats for those that don't have the time or knowledge on how to take DOC files and convert them. I, too, found your website many years ago and started out reading first one, then another book there. So I certainly have no intention to criticize you for your good work there or in any way demotivate you. Please forgive me if i gave that impression somehow.
