Soooo we get 40 more pages for a Happy New Year...

Happy Happy Christmas. I love presents. Let's see Christmas is on Monday. So Saturday or Sunday sometime. Sounds good to me. I will unwrap it happily before Monday.Fel wrote:No, but it means you got a chapter before christmas instead of a 70 page chapter released probably after the new year.J-Man5 wrote:So does this mean that you have another 30+ pages already worked up?Fel wrote:They're gonna be on Karis for a while. Jason has more to discover. I just didn't want the chapter to turn into a 70 page monster, so I broke it in half.

Deal with it.
Why does he have to get fully "trained," when the gasalt can interact with the Karinne main frame and teach him everything he has to know plus some?Fiferguy wrote:**whines** But I wanted the chapter NOW!!! Sorry bout that.![]()
It's interesting. I wonder how many other "Generations" children there are left...
I'm not sure claiming the patents would be a good idea, because if he does, he'd probably be the wealthiest person in the IMPERIUM, even over the Empress herself. Maybe just claim one or two, to finance himself, maybe buy a small planet, you know...![]()
And I had a thought while out and about today. The reason that Jason and Myleena are so good with Faey technology is that they are ENGINEERED to be good with the technology. And personally, because of some of the reasons listed in the first couple chapters, once he's trained fully, I believe that Jason will be better than she is... But that's just my thought.
The gestalt can't implant data into his brain like that. Its interaction with his brain doesn't get that deep...that's why the Karinnes still had their academy. They still trained their people the same way the rest of the Faey did.michaelsuave wrote:Why does he have to get fully "trained," when the gasalt can interact with the Karinne main frame and teach him everything he has to know plus some?Fiferguy wrote:**whines** But I wanted the chapter NOW!!! Even if it could, we would still get into that issue between what is knowledge and what is a skill. Only a Kimdori can teach a skill, not even the gestalt could perform that miracle.
But, the gestalt can download any pertinent data and store it in its OWN memory, and let Jason look at it. Armed with a manual at his mental fingertips and all the schematics he needs, he could easily tackle unfamiliar technology.
In this way, the gestalt acts as "external memory" for Jason's brain, like a USB flash drive, literally having a computer attached to his brain with all of its processing power and memory at his command. It can't teach him a skill and it can't download data directly into his brain, but so long as the gestalt keeps the data in its memory, Jason has complete access to it. He will "remember" it as long as his gestalt retains it in its memory. He could even memorize it into his own mind, like any other information. But as soon as the data is deleted from the gestalt, *poof*, he forgets it. Unless, of course, he made an effort to memorize it.
