It IS bad.
We're too techy for our own good. Fel, bring us down a notch by giving us more Faey tech to attempt to comprehend.

Now its also bad when you try and figure out how to implement such a DB. Just how could I get those tables to be populated faster? Do you think Fel would mind a bit of Modding to add a high powered processor and RAID array and more memory to his person? Voila --- > Fel-Borg the first Ultra-writer, from there it would be other online authors then finally print writers like Robert Jordan.Spec8472 wrote:It's not in my [s]sequel[/s] SQL...Phantom wrote:Shhhh all That's in the Sequel

I disagree, I think the debt the Kimdori owe the house is because they did something that either saved the Kimdori speices, or a major part of it, to me that is the only thing I can think of that would justify the level (as in how many are actually helping him, clan elder, etc..) of help they are giving him..XavierQuinn wrote:I have 2 similar theories about the relationship between the Kimdori and Jason:
1) 1200 years ago a few of the scientists from house Karinne found a way to detect Kimdori shape shifters by changing certain biological receptors in their bodies at a genetic level. This scientific breakthrough threatened to create an enormous security threat for the Kimdori as it would neutralize the effectiveness of their shape shifting ability for infiltration and information gathering. Being specialists at manipulating events behind the scenes the Kimdori attempted to eliminate the threat my eliminating the scientists and the research. Somehow their plan got away from them and instead of eliminating the scientists and research they started a string of events that led to an empire wide civil war that whipped out the Karinne house in its entirety. Since then the Kimdori have focused of creating stability in the empire to ensure that nothing like the civil war could happen again and are also trying to find a way to make restitution to house Karinne for the damage the Kimdori’s actions caused.
2) A variant on the last theory is that they knew exactly what they were doing when they created the civil war and used the war as a cover to eliminate any and all possible information concerning the scientist’s research from surviving. It was a ruthless decision to protect the very fabric of the Kimdori civilization. Not being evil creatures by nature but causing this evil act out of desperation has caused an emotional wound in the Kimdori psyche that has lead them to influence events throughout the empire to help balance the proverbial scales and heal the emotional wound. One example of their actions is the support of Jason Fox.
My last thought is that the reason the Kimdori elder had the cure for Jason’s sickness is because the Kimdori where the original creators of the biological weapon used specially against the leading scientist researching the KMD (Kimdori Detection Method).
I agree with Hearly, I don't think XavierQuinn's theory would explain the amount of trust that Jason innately shows with the Kimdori. Further, if it was just a bunch of scientists in Jason's house, then it wouldn't explain why Jason and his sister, both related to the ruling lord of the house and not some indiscriminant scientist, can feel kimdori and equate the feeling of each other to kimdori also. It is much more likely that the kimdori and Jason's house share some deeper bond rather than the Kimdori trying to make up for a mistake of their own actions. Xavier's theory just doesn't seem to line up with Jason and his sister's background and the info that fel told us that they are related through the lords two sons.Hearly wrote:

Wow, I didn't think about that before, but I would have to agree. I think you might have hit on something here Lochar.Lochar wrote:You know, the more I think about it, the more something seems odd about the Kimdori being a virus species.
I don't think that does them justice.
With their abilities, I think the Kimdori are more symbiotes than virus. If the 'lost house' had actually been the other half of the symbiote, that'd make sense as to why the Kimdori are so intent on helping them.
And it'd make sense as to why they wouldn't want it to look like Jason was getting help from another noble house. They want that family to rise again under it's own power.
Would also explain why Jason and the rest of the 'family' feel like Kimdori, if they have a symbiotic relationship with them.
But didn't Fel once say that Jason had no Kimdori DNA? so that would shoot this out the window...michaelsuave wrote:Wow, I didn't think about that before, but I would have to agree. Symbiotes are seperate creatures than enhance themselves and their 'host' if you will. But they'd be seperate creatures with DNA and everything else like that.Hearly wrote:But didn't Fel once say that Jason had no Kimdori DNA? so that would shoot this out the window...michaelsuave wrote:Wow, I didn't think about that before, but I would have to agree.
