it took me a lot longer to come to terms with the passing of my mother than I expected.

My father died in '71. I've yet to come to terms with his death, as I waited far too long to work through the issues - having to "be strong for the family" is not healthy.

My father passed on Valentine's Day this year, and our family is all recovering at different paces. Don't feel rushed into anything. Just take the time you need.
