Dan’s Inferno by Jan Stryvant wink wink if you haven’t read then go Now DO. Excellent series. Another good series is K.N. Banet Jacky Leon it's mainly about a Werecat named Jacky and her trials and tribulations trying to navigate between the human world and the super natural world. When all she really wants is to be left alone with her bar. Go read em both

Just ran across this thread after not visiting for a long while, thanks for all the good recommendations! Azirinth Healer over at Royal Road is excellent, as is He Who Fights With Monsters by Shirtaloon. Over on Amazon there is Asgard's Fall by Robert Hinshaw, which definitely satisfied my urge for god on mortal and mortal on god combat.

Incidentally, the link leads to a specific page at Novel Updates, which is something of a clearing house for information concerning fan translations of Asian Web Novels and Light Novels; well worth browsing through if that strikes your fancy; it doesn't host stories itself, but provides information on stories being translated with links to the actual translation teams' web sites.

I read a lot of asian novels listed on novelupdates. The site can keep track of your progress on stories listed on their site. I have a dozen or so stories that I read when new chapters come out.

I am considering a Kindle Unlimited subscription. Any other recommendations than the ones already in this thread? I like fantasy, SF, military/spy, xanxia/wuxia, LitRPG, paranormal,... I don't care for straight romance or westerns. I enjoy mysteries but usually ones with fantasy/SF spin.

In regard to Kindle, bear in mind that Amazon is inconsistent in applying their Community Standards to works of fiction.

They, and a couple of the other major ebook retailers, recently ditched a whole slew of English translated Japanese LNs and Manga...while still being an official provider for the German translations of the very same works. None of the retailers involved have deigned to answer the publishers' requests concerning what it was about the various works which were in conflict with their Community Standards, of course.

What's really odd is that in one case, one retailer ditched the manga at the same time that they started carrying the just licensed translation of the LN it was adapted from...while the other retailers also dropped the LN.

As a reader, I have to admit to saying "good riddance" to the LN's. Not that I have anything against LN's, but they've essentially been spamming the store (Amazon) for ages. Basically uploading multiple arcs/books/chapters as separate titles per day, effectively meaning as a reader searching for new books, one sometimes find oneself wading through pages and pages of LN's. It's been very frustrating.
