My friend Ashley needs help.

Post by AdamX »

From my website:
My friend Ashley was involved in a school bus wreck a while back, and it injured her back and possibly some of her ribs. Her back is way out of alignment, and one of the ribs on her chest is sticking out. To top it all off, the doctor's think she has mono. Right now, I'm so stressed I can't even remember what the hell mono is, so I'm going to keep the editorial to a minimum. The school paid for her hospital bills after the wreck, but only for after the wreck, and she was still injured after that battle with the hospital. She did have medicare, but that was cancelled or shut off for some reason, so she's only got the one pain pill and one antibiotic pill that the hospital gave her before she left. They absolutely REFUSED to x-ray her back, saying that it would be too much radiation, and that X-rays, cat-scans, and mri's can only be done by appointment. As much as I'd like to duct tape the ER doctor's mouth to my tailpipe and put pedal to the medal, she's going to need all the help she can to get back to normal. For christ's sake, she's only 16! I doubt she's going to be able to get any decent-paying job long enough to get to college and get a sit-down job. I'll try to update y'all as much as possible, but right now I've got to figure out what kind of fund-raiser I can do here, since car washes would just freeze any volunteers I could get out here at this time of the year. I've set up a PayPal donation thing to let y'all help if you can, and any help is appreciated. I just wish I was good enough at something online to give you in return.

I don't have the time to type it all out again, I've got to get started on fund-raiser type stuff, sorry. The board won't let me post HTML so I can't put the PayPal Donate button here, so here's the link to my website, which has the button. **Link temporarily removed by request**

At the risk of looking like an utter ass.

Sorry, but this rings of 'scam'.

Can you please post a link to a newspaper scan (hold it up to a webcam/digicam/whatever if you don't have a scanner) of an article atleast referencing this school bus crash.

If you don't have a newspaper article - email me, privately (will@plebian.net), a scan of something from Ashley - you can blur out private details if you wish. I promise I won't distribute the image. eg, Image of Ashley holding a sign with something written on it and holding the bottle/packet the pills came in.

Until then, I'm going to ask you to remove the above donation link.

I can try to get a hold of a newspaper clipping, but she doesn't even have her pain pill prescription yet, which would be cheaper than her antibiotics. She doesn't have any bruises, but I should be able to get a picture of where her backbone is sticking out later this afternoon. You can't see where her rib is sticking up out of her chest, it's less than a half an inch from where it should be, and I'm not even sure if it's her rib, it could just be some weird lump. It's the first rib right under her collarbone.

NOONE sued over the wreck, as it was an elderly couple from out-of-state that rear-ended the bus. I swear to you, this is NOT a scam, I love Ashley deeply, and will do everything I can to help her have a better life than I have, I'm only asking for a little help.

Haven't found an online copy of the article I can access yet, and the newspaper offices are closed. I did find the article in the online archives at http://www.tulsaworld.com/ArchiveSearch ... ormNew.asp, search for catoosa school bus in October of 2004, but I'd have to pay to access the article, and so would anyone else who would want to see it. I'm trying to find another online copy of it, but it seems that a bus full of kids getting rear-ended just isn't news anymore.
