Shadow walker-chapter 18, so spoilers

SO the war continues, good news and bad.

THe city has a huge warehouse and reserves of crystals and alcheny tools. ANy chance some of them will be rigged to take lore masters out. Records are not a priority to defend, so why doesnt kyvern visit the alchemy records section, and take a compendium of alchemy home to haven, so able to stay ahead of the game.

It great that kyvern can steal, discharge and destroy the crystals and weaponries. THings they wont want humans to get destroyed, made useless or taken to haven. Everything else, if possible get sent to the human army allies.

So carin is the possible human ally. IN exchange for gold, silver, crystals, even alchemical goods, all arcan in their territory are free and they will keep the souther pass clear. Potential of trading with haven to help supplement the kingdom due to labour shortage, possibly a front to sell the rest to other humans. With a steady supply of weapon sand crystals from have, they should be able to hold their enemies at bay, espeacially with them occupied and depleted. I wonder if the king will purposely drain the crystal reserves in the country to fill new materials, i wonder just how cheap gold and silver are, to the crystal.

FOr flaur to expand, geovan is in their way, so conflict there. I wonder if haven would purposely draw an army out into the open in the snows, easy way to get war materials.

SAy the arcan buy one of every best weapon from the other continet, they can then copy and replicate it, so become the premier weapon manufacturer on this continet.

HUman shaman will never be the most powerful, so i wonder if they will all beome totem shaman, and i wonder if there are such things as elemental shaman. It is likly humans are gonna be even rarer as shaman, as arcans were made by alchemy. SO to make the most use of them, will they all find shaman.

Alak would be a fool if he made the bargin as it stands. He has to make at least one counter offer or he (and his nation) come across as spineless, and as a trained diplomat he'd know that. What he should really be after is trade and diplomatic relations with Haven, in addition to the other things. Given that Haven doesn't have a diplomatic corps (and almost certainly hasn't the first clue how to set one up) this then gives him the perfect oppertunity to graciously offer to help them create one.

Towards the end of this chapter I half expected him to get in an arguement with the Arcan councellors, about all the things they're not doing properly, or at all, because they don't know about them.

A couple of questions about shadowspace:
1) Is there a limit to how much Kyven can stretch shadowspace?
2) Can Kyven create permanant gateways into the shadowspace? Or help craft a crystal device that can?
This might have been covered before and I've just forgotten... But if the answer is 'no' and 'yes', then can't Kyven create a wormhole by making two permanant gateways, pulling them towards each other in shadowspace, and then tying them together somehow? If the gap was small enough, the hunters might not be able to get at anyone passing through, and even if they could, you could always send dead material through. Such a device might have significant trade potential.

SHaman live extended lives, so human shaman, will see generations of arcan shaman, so I bet this new girl will end up as the Head shaman out of simple seniority.

Kyvern is a weak shaman, but has strenth in his totem spirit powers. I think he has major strength in illusions, and a minor in healing, so could he make green or Blue crystals. Also i wonder if blue crystals mean it powers any thing sensory based, so communication, sensors, detectors etc. Also if shaman power is in their eyes, wont that mean illusion shaman are speacial.

Shaman magic=alchemy gadets, so possible create a device to go in and out via shadow space, a sort of interdimensional travel.

How many times does Fel have to write into the narrative that Shadow powers are not Shaman powers? They are Shadow Fox monster abilities. So far, the narrative has given zero support to suggest that Shadow powers can be accomplished with Shaman magic. We all know that could change at the drop of a hat, but so far Shaman have no power to replicate Kyven's Shadow Fox abilities with their own power or with crystal devices.

I normally try to ignore this sort of thing but;
Fel has made certain we know that Kyven(SIC) cannot make crystals by repeating that little gem of information many times.

I apologise for my un informed posting.

Just had an idea with the crystals, when a shaman touches an object with a crystal, it can simply drain it away. But i wonder if instead, the shaman could reshape the crystal. Kyvern is too weak to make crystals, but as a master crystal cutter, he knows everthing about the proper shape, he could make it rigged to malfunction. Or he could simply take the energy and make new, perfect and unshaped crystals so saving the power for later. Could he use this aquired power to purchase small favours from the fox.

Great idea for an illusion, kyvern can make different people see things at the same point depending on location and speed. So what if he creates impenetrable darkness that affects the loreguard humans. or knocks out their total hearing. Use huge flashes of light to blind them.

The thing with being so close to a river, you have to make sure your sewers are built properly, or deal with flooding, contamination, erosion in the foundations. Say kyvern used shadow walking to get to the sewer, sealed its proper exits, then directed the full force of the river inside, it would flood the city, driving everyhing in them to the streets.

Shaman spells-alchemy tools, but kyvern shadow powers only use the same sot of energy. But i wonder, could he infuses alchemy tools to hold shadow essence, so able to use shadow powers, that could potentially earn him some a lot of power. Say he can build gates, simply make them all to haven as a hub, it would be too costly to invade, but so valuable for trade. With everyone fighting for the remaining crystal, and for resources and assets, having a neutral safe place to talk and trade would be invaluable. The nations would agree as they would need the resources and safe supply lines. Could potentially become a much faster means to travel continents. If they become the primary source of trade between continents riches are to be made. Soon this continent will have a huge famine as there are so few farm workers, if such portals existed, they could aquire the needed foof from there.

The plan is to in the end, when the armies tturn to draw them out so they are buried by winter snows, or they could escape before winter, so humans only have each other to fight.
