Thank you but I can't take sole (or even major) credit. I modified another's design based on Fel's description. Even with that, I think Fel was thinking that the wings would be outstretched, not curved up. Still I kind of like it this way.

What characters, though? I've got limited 3d (yech! I just tried extruding and embossing effects and I won't subject y'all to the results) works better with fonts.
