the problem is you can only have one gateway per network on you machine. if you have 2 nics and they both are connected to a 192.168.x.x network only one will pass packets. give your second nic and the nas a different IP scheme like 10.10.x.x. because you are connecting to the nas using IP address ...

I know its not going to help Fel at this point but there is a great online automatic backup program that you can use for free (up to 2 gb) or for $4.95 a month unlimited amount of data on one machine. you load a client on your machine tell it what to backup and when you want it to run then forget ...

Fel, if you let me know what type of machine it is, of if it is a custom build, I can probably tell you how to check to see if the sound is turned on in the bios. Its what I do for a living, but at the server level now.
