Re: Retrubution Chapter 11 [Spoilers]
@valinor89
First of all, Jason's arms don't need a power cell at all. They will run on broadcast power.
They do? Given that the broadcast power technology - or at least some version of it - comes from that galaxy I would assume that they have some sort of jamming going on in the most secure ...

Re: Retrubution Chapter 10 [Spoilers]
Somehow it doesn't feel right, Jason wanting to be the hero when there are certainly a lot more options of what to do than put him into the line of fire in his body. Heck, couldn't it be some Kimdori that gets a bit of his blood to shapeshift into a perfect copy like they do on regular infiltrations ...

Re: Retribution, chapter 7, possible ideas and theories (spoilers)
So the fact that they stole the Oracles isn't proof positive that he can't destroy them in a single strike, I mean that is why the Consortium lost. They had better tech and comparable fleets and won most of the battles but the Oracles ensured the Syndicate won the right battles
Actually, if they ...

Re: Retribution, chapter 7, possible ideas and theories (spoilers)
But Syndicate leadership has been blinded to what was actually done. At least I assume the usual sensor masking was performed before this battle. And even then, knowing there are gates capable of transporting ships great distances doesn't tell them there are also man sized gates that can work even ...

Re: Retribution, Chapter 6.
Shouldn't the Retribution chapter releases be Topics, not Announcements?
Uhm... no? We are in the "Chapter Announcements" forum, subforum "Subjugation" after all. ;)
Like, keep Announcements for Unusual Official Business?
Anything other than Chapter Announcements go to other places than here ...

Re: Retribution, chapter 7, possible ideas and theories (spoilers)
Remember what the captured mech pilot said in the opening minutes of the battle to take the dreamer home world... If "command" can edit their warbook remotely to say capture a Karinne command ship at all costs, what else could the Kimdori remotely edit and push down to all the enemy fleets in ...

I have my opinions and you have yours during our debate. So, without further comment to you, let's just see how Fel writes this book or books(s) and they play out his one HELL of a story.
But thats one of the best things about books. You can discuss it with others and learn about things you never ...

1. You stated above "Since I already have hyperspace travel - and the instantanous one at that - making sense of how to build a gate doesn't require a major technological leap in understanding, just a left turn instead of a right turn in application." I had to bust your bubble, hyperspace travel is ...

Re: Re: Retribution (chapter 6) - spoilers!
1. The Karinne tech is only held by themselves and the Kimdori. And they will guard it with their lives and is on living computers that no one else can understand and which most likely would destroy themselves before giving it up.
Indeed. Did I say otherwise anywhere? On the other hand, grab an ...

Re: Re: Retribution (chapter 6) - spoilers!
There isn't a very big gap technologically when it comes to the major countries here on earth.
It takes just hours to get from one side of the world to the other. Naturally, that makes trading very profitable and no nation can grow in isolation. There are also very few things that the ...

Re: Re: Retribution (chapter 6) - spoilers!
The Kimdori and the Karinnes might have pretty much impregnable security and the other empires security might pale in comparison, but that doesnt mean that their security is non-existent or even all that bad. And a complete outside empire thats 5 years away is going to find it even more difficult ...

Re: Re: Retribution (chapter 6) - spoilers!
You two do know that 98% of the tech in question is fully controled by two races, the Karinnes and the Kimdori? The Kimdori have controlled their secrets almost forever and the Karinnes, with Kimdori's help, do the same. Hell, they are even cousins! Also, the Kimdori are on the Benga home world ...

Re: Re: Retribution (chapter 6) - spoilers!
A treaty obviously won't stop the Benga from taking what they want. They are unscrupulous corporate types that will find a way to ensure that any treaty allows them enough wiggle room to justify doing what they want. But without the Oracles they will hesitate to start a war.
Uh... treaties might ...
