The civilization vanishing reminded me of the Reapers from Mass Effect causing galaxy wide extinctions. What's more interesting/compelling about this in the Subjugation universe is that only the people were taken.

The end of ch. 7 worries me. Those Ulala are shady. I don't trust them one bit. It seems like Jason feels the same way, but it also seems like he is underestimating their cunning. It seems like they have the duplicitousness of the Faey turned up to 11.

Has anyone given any thought as to the significance of Jason's mother? There have been a couple chapters lately in which she was referenced and the fact that Jason is actively trying to remember her seems to be pretty important. Is it a red herring though?

So if I'm remembering correctly, when Songa is telling Jason that Aria isn't technically Faey, they have genetic records that they can trace back 40,000 years or so to when the Faey were almost wiped out and there were only X amount of breeding pairs ...

I've been reading a lot of Sanderson lately, which means my brain is trying to catch as many things that intertwine between books as it can. I've started to do the same with Fel's work now.
